European Grass Track Final comes to the UK
ONE of the most prestigious grass track meetings in Europe - the 500cc Solo Final - will be held in the UK in 2011 as part of the famous Lincolnshire Poacher event.

The UEM Solo Final for 500cc solo racers will be held on August 27th - 28th 2011 at Thorpe St Peter (near the famous holiday resort of Skegness) by Wainfleet MCC - within the famous Lincoln Poacher event.

The organiser is Reg Blackbourn, the man behind the Lincolnshire Poacher, the UK’s most successful grass track event - so it is set to be a huge success.

Reg said: “We are proud to announce the Euro solo final on Bank Holiday Saturday and Sunday 27th-28th August in conjunction with the international Lincolnshire Poacher Longtrack. The practice will be on the 27th with the racing on the 28th.

“This will make the Poacher one of the biggest off-road events in Europe. We don’t know the rider line-up until they qualify but the quality will be top notch. It is only the third time this final has been run in England, it is a big event.

“On the Saturday night there will be a live band, comedian and other entertainment, as well as all the top riders signing autographs and being interviewed.”

An ACU spokesman said: “The 500cc European final is a highlight of the year for all grass track racers and fans and we are delighted to bring it to the UK in 2011 and for Reg Blackbourn to be the organiser.

“Reg’s involvement means we know the track, facilities, entertainment and rider line-up will be second to none, it will be a brilliant event so book the weekend in your calendar now, you’ll not want to miss it.”

Prices are £20 for Sunday or £25 for Saturday and Sunday with free camping available from the previous Wednesday until the Tuesday after the event.
