Round 6 of the Colin Appleyard British Solo Trials Championship

Monday September 8, 2008 at 12:00am
Five times British Trials Champion, Graham Jarvis, demonstrated his amazing skills at the Hookwoods Trials Centre at West Horsley on Sunday 7th September where he shrugged off wet and slippery conditions to win the 6th round of the 2008 Colin Appleyard British Solo Trials Championship.

After torrential rain, the 12 sections bordered on almost unrideable, even after the Clerk of Course Mr Jim Connor altered many of the ones affected by a coating of mud. If the rain had persisted, the slippery surfaces would have been washed by the water but it did not so the scores did rocket.

Jarvis, in these conditions was almost invincible. Only Winslow teenager Alexz Wigg managed to match the 29 penalty score which Jarvis posted on the second lap. His first and third laps were even lower score lines. The Ripon domiciled Canterbury MRS Sherco rider goes to the final round just one point behind series leader, European Champion, Michael Brown .

New F.I.M. World Youth champion Jack Challoner won the Expert class from Barnstaple graphic designer Joe Baker who goes to the Skipton final round with a 6 point lead over Challoner. Herne Bay National Youth Champion Ben Morphett took the non-Championship Youth Class from Richmond’s Jonathan Richardson and Ipswich youth Jack Sheppard. The Thames Motorcycle Club staged a great event that the weather failed to wreck.

The Bradford Motor Club will stage the final round on October 5 at Skyrakes Farm, Skipton.
