The final piece of the jigsaw has fallen into place, with Spanish star Miquel Gelabert confirmed as the eighth and final rider for X-Trial Leeds 2027 at the First Direct Bank Arena on Saturday 23 January.
Gelabert’s inclusion completes a formidable international line-up that brings together some of the sport’s biggest names, established World Championship contenders and exciting young talents for another thrilling evening of world-class action and entertainment.
The Spaniard is no stranger to competing against the very best, having finished fifth overall in the 2026 FIM TrialGP World Championship aboard Honda’s innovative RTL Electric motorcycle. Gelabert has played a key role in developing the pioneering machine, helping Honda achieve an historic first World Championship victory for an electric trials motorcycle in 2024.
With extensive experience at the highest level of both indoor and outdoor trials, Gelabert brings a combination of technical precision, determination and exciting riding ability to an already fiercely competitive field.
He joins reigning World Champion Toni Bou, fellow Spanish stars Jaime Busto and Gabriel Marcelli, Italian ace Matteo Grattarola, 2026 FIM Trial2 World Champion Arnau Farré and British brothers Harry and George Hemingway.
With the eight-rider line-up now complete, the stage is set for an incredible contest as the world’s elite prepare to tackle the unique challenges of X-Trial Leeds.
An extensive course redesign will see fifty percent of the sections entirely new, presenting fresh challenges for even the most experienced competitors. Meanwhile, established crowd favourites including the S3, Red Bull and Michelin sections will return with exciting new features designed to test the riders to their limits.
