The newly formed committee for the ACU national Road rallies declared their first event of 2026 a resounding success.
The committee having only formed over the winter period of 2025/26 and having held their first meeting in February of this year were overwhelmed by the support and response from fellow motorcyclists toward the Welsh National Road Rally for 2026, the first event that the Rallies Committee has brought back to life.
315 Riders registered for the 2026 Welsh National Road Rally (WNRR), which took place on the 9th May 2026 after a year’s absence from the rally calendar.
The Welsh National Rally was a long-standing point-to-point navigation scatter rally originally organised by the Clive Motorcycle Club (Clive MCC), and based in Welshpool.
Following the Covid outbreak the ACU stepped in the support and operate the rally. Now known as the Welsh National Road Rally and part of the three ACU National Road Rallies series it covers hundreds of miles across the mountains and valleys of Wales, serving as a key fixture in UK road rallying
Following the success of this year’s rally the committee met on the 28th of July at ACU head office to ratify the final results and personally package the Welsh Slate awards to all the participants.
101 riders achieved the Highest Platinum award, with 104 achieving gold, 42 silver and 27 Bronze.
All entrants in the 2026 Welsh National Road Rally will receive an award regardless of placing including non-starters and non-finishers who were unfortunate enough to meet mechanical breakdown and other issues. The committee wishes to thank everyone who registered for the rally for their support.
Following the success of the 2026 Welsh National Road Rally the committee unanimously agreed that the rally would continue into the future and the date has been set for the 2027 event
The Welsh National Road Rally 2027 will be held on Saturday the 8th May 2027,
Entries will open early in 2027.
