Dougie Lampkin has confirmed that he will step down from his current role as Course Director with ML Events following the recent TrialGP Anglesey event and having previously and successfully fulfilled the role at three editions of DL12 Indoor Trial and also earlier this year at X-Trial Leeds.
Speaking about his recent decision Dougie explained: “Whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed leading the course building team for the last four years, there is no doubt it is a hugely time-consuming role. I still plan to be involved in some shape or form as I still have a passion for building sections and the other courses that we have created over the last few years, but I also am hugely committed to supporting my sons Alfie and Fraiser with their riding and following them around the World whilst I have the chance to do so.”
“Jake (Miller) and I have discussed at length about making sure that he and his team can continue to deliver high level events in the future, and I am confident that will be the case, as it was before ML Events came into play. We are working together to ensure that it will be a seamless handover to the new party who will fill the role moving forward. I will still be there in the background to support and help where I can and to make sure what we have created over the last four years is maintained and developed through the future events that are planned.”
In the meantime, G2F Media will continue to represent Dougie on a personal level as it has done for the last twenty-seven years. Plus Dougie’s eldest son Alfie Lampkin will also remain a valued member of the event team moving forward.
