Toni Bou – Repsol Honda and Andrea Sofia Rabino – Beta recorded double victories in the premier TrialGP and TrialGP Women classes when the TrialGP of Great Britain – round four of the 2026 Hertz FIM Trial World Championship – was staged at the immaculate Trac Mon Circuit Anglesey, but it was the sport that emerged as the weekend’s biggest winner.
The fans turned out in their thousands to watch the best Trial riders on the planet showcase their skills on the rugged North Wales coastline and while the recent heatwave came to an abrupt halt just in time for the opening day of competition, not even Saturday’s rain could put a dampener on the action.
Running alongside the hugely-successful first edition of Moto Fest that swelled the crowd and introduced Trial to a more mainstream motorcycle audience, the TrialGP of Great Britain – promoted by ML Events – gave visitors their only chance this year to see the world’s leading riders in outdoor action in the UK and while Spanish superstar Bou and Italian Rabino dominated the headlines, riders from the host nation produced a string of impressive performances.
Following Friday’s Super Test session to decide starting order that for the first time was contested by all five classes, Bou – who is on course to win a twentieth consecutive title this season – maintained his series stranglehold as he extended his win-streak to sixteen consecutive races, stretching his championship advantage to ninety points. This year’s TrialGP Women title fight is much closer and Rabino’s polished performance over the weekend has slashed the gap to Spain’s defending champion and series leader Berta Abellan – Scorpa to just eleven points.
British hopes in TrialGP were carried on the shoulders of Harry Hemingway – Beta and Jack Peace – Sherco and twenty-year-old Hemingway, in his first season in the premier class, posted career-best fourth overall finishes on both days while Peace recorded a pair of solid sevenths. Home riders were well-represented in TrialGP Women and were led by Alice Minta – Beta who ran three-five over the weekend and Kaytlyn Adshead – Vertigo who recorded six-four results.
In Trial2 there was more home success with Harry Turner – Sherco backing up his overall win on Saturday with third in an incredibly close Sunday competition won by Italy’s Francesco Titli – Montesa that has lifted the British rider to within two points of the series lead. In his second season in the class, George Hemingway – Beta also impressed with two-five overall finishes.
The opening day of Trial2 Women competition was won by Poland’s Justyna Lonycz – GASGAS with Daniela Hernando – Beta from Spain on top on day two, but British rider Matilda Arbon – Sherco was on the podium on both days to extend her championship lead.
The TrialGP of Great Britain represented the second and final chance this season to see all five classes in action and Harison Skelton – Scorpa won both days in the Trial3 Junior division to regain the championship lead with his sole weekend defeat, in Sunday’s second race, coming at the hands of fellow British rider Max Dance – Scorpa.
