During the week, we’ll be based at 8 Extra service stations across the UK, and we’re looking for volunteers to help engage with the public and raise vital funds. Our appeal will focus on family travel during the busy summer holiday period, highlighting the importance of getting there safely. Based on 2025 data, air ambulance charities attend an estimated 8,590 road traffic collision incidents each year, highlighting just how vital this support is.
Extra are expecting around
500,000 visitors across the week, providing a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of both the air ambulance sector and the organisations supporting it.

All funds raised will support the lifesaving work of the UK’s 21 air ambulance charities, helping them continue delivering advanced pre-hospital critical care.
We are aiming to raise over £100,000 across all sites during the week.
Don't worry, your volunteers won't be thrown in the deep end! Full training and materials are provided, and the day itself will be genuinely good fun. Activities include:
Speaking to customers about the work of air ambulance charities Encouraging donations, including cashless options Handing out leaflets and raising awareness Running simple engagement activities such as spin the wheel, quizzes and giveaways Supporting family-friendly activities, including CPR and defibrillator awareness delivered by a trusted partner Opportunities to meet Mr Teddy, our 7ft mascot in a helicopter pilot uniform Having fun!
Partners are also very welcome to bring branded merchandise, giveaways, or exclusive offers for visitors. It's a great chance to put your brand in front of a huge, engaged audience while supporting a cause that genuinely saves lives.
