The teams are signed up and getting prepped for the Wright Engineering team race at the 2026 VMXdN, held at the historic and iconic Hawkstone park circuit in Shropshire over the August bank holiday weekend.
One team that must be contenders is the Genus Motorsport squad, managed by Dave Grimshaw; the line-up has to be considered a favourite for honours.
Opening the team roster is 26-year-old Tom Grimshaw, a fierce competitor on the British championship scene. The Hertfordshire resident boasts top three finishes in the MXGB series. He will be on board a Honda for the vets' race and is sure to be at the sharp end of the action all weekend.
Next up is the uber-experienced Martin Barr, from Northern Ireland, who has an impressive run of 14 consecutive years representing his country in the MXdN, and 18 times in total. The 39-year-old has now retired from full-time racing but never discount the fiery racer from being right in the mix. Barr's stellar career has also seen him clinch titles in both the MX Nationals and Pirelli Masters, not to mention numerous podiums at the MXGB.
Thirdly, and by far not least, is Jamie Law. The 39-year-old who hails from Cumbria boasts podium finishes at the British championship level on his CV. He retired from professional racing after a 20-year-long career battling at the front. Law is unfortunately best known for breaking his bike in half at an EMX race during the Matterley British GP, but he walked away from what could have been a way worse outcome!
It’s time to strap yourself in as the big names start to drop weekly for the four-day motocross festival that is the most anticipated event on the British motocross calendar.
There’s so much going on before a gate even drops on the racing action at the VMXdN. From the bustling trade village and open paddock track walks to the world-famous Show’N’Shine, a true feast for the eyes for any two-stroke fan. The VMXdN is unlike anything else on the calendar. Legends of the past and present descend from across the globe, and come Saturday, they take to the line to go bar to bar just like the golden era of 90s motocross.
