Introducing ACU Connect: A New Era of Openness and Engagement
Honest and transparent communication directly with the governing body of motorcycle sport in the UK, the Auto-Cycle Union Ltd, is at the heart of a brand-new initiative launching this June.

The ACU is proud to introduce ACU Connect, a new platform designed to bring members closer to the organisation through open dialogue, increased transparency, and meaningful engagement with senior leadership.

The first ACU Connect session will take place online via Zoom on Tuesday 9th June, from 18:00 to 19:30.

What is ACU Connect?

ACU Connect is an interactive online forum where anyone can:

Ask questions directly to a panel of ACU management Gain clarity on key topics affecting the sport Take part in a dedicated “MythBusters” segment, addressing common misconceptions Better understand how the ACU supports and develops motorcycle sport at all levels The panel will include senior figures from the organisation, including Matthew Edwards, Chief Executive Officer of the ACU.

Key Topics to Be Covered

The session will explore a range of important and frequently discussed topics, including:

·       Why the ACU? ACU vs other Permit Bodies – Understanding the role of the ACU as the national governing body and how it differs from other permit-issuing organisations

·       Funding – How licence fees are used and how they support the wider sport.

·       Insurance – The value and scope of ACU insurance cover.

·       Pathways – The ACU structure and progression into European and World governing bodies. The ACU Eco System.

·       Illegal Riding & Land Access – The impact of illegal riding and the importance of maintaining strong relationships with landowners and forestry organisations.

·       Government Engagement – Lobbying at government level to help protect and ensure the long-term sustainability of motorcycle sport

·       Social Media – The impact it has on the sport, both positively and negatively, and how what is shared online can have a direct effect on the long-term sustainability of motorcycle sport.
