It was a trip down to the North Devon coast near Ilfracombe for the opening round of the ACU Trial GB British Championship which would be contested over two points scoring days on the 25th and 26th of April. The event would be run by On Point Moto on behalf of Absolute Trials Training with support from the ACU team. This amazing piece of land covers 150-acres on Keypitts Farm offering an unbeatable range of terrain which included deep valley woods, hill climbs, rivers, rocks and gullies making it an ideal venue to host the opening round of the 2026 ACU Championship season.
Warm and dry fine weather would greet over 90 riders who would be competing over nine classes. On day one the starting order would be the reverse of the riders 2025 championship standings and on day two the start order would be based on the Saturday results. All the ACU classes would compete over two laps of 12 observed sections. Below are the championship standings after the two opening points scoring days.
TrialGB Championship Positions
With the younger of the two Hemingway’s George taking his for TrialGB Championship on day one and Harry winning on day two the brothers stand at the top of the championship table separated by six marks. With the scores really close on day two Harry Turner missed the win by a single mark with Billy Green another single mark adrift in third place. The defending champion Jack Peace stands fourth in the championship but with the points very close he will focus on the next round in the battle for the title.

TrialGB Women Championship Positions
This was the most riders this class has ever seen had entered and the weekend finished with both Alice Minta and Kaitlyn Adshead taking a win each. Alice had a clear win on day one but Kaitlyn came back stronger on day two to take the win by a single mark putting them on equal points at the head of the championship. Finishing both days on the podium, Alicia Robinson holds third in the championship with last year’s Trial2 winner Matilda Arbon fourth on the same point’s as Nikita Smith.

Trial2 Championship Positions
After missing this title in 2025, Scotland’s Duncan MacColl took the win at the opening round on day one but his form dropped on day two as Oliver Smith took the win the to put him at the head of the championship. The defending champion Jack Spencer did not hit his top form until day two to keep him in the title battle with Hugo Jervis and Australia’s Connor Hogan next in the championship. The 2025 Youth A Class winner Bill Reeves has made the move to Trial2 and is seventh after the opening two rounds.

Trial2 Women Championship Positions
Two strong performances from Holly Dixon and Summer Peters gave them a win each putting them on equal points at the top of the championship followed by Brianna King and Seren Walters who are both on the same points.

Trial Expert Championship Positions
After the opening day one win for Joe Snelling, Charlie Smith came strong on day two to take the win and move to the head of the championship points table. In third place in the championship after a good weekends performance was Emma Bristow the ex-Women’s ACU British Trials Champion with a strong second place finish on day two. Behind Emma it is very close with Elliot Laws, Joshua McParland and Brett Harbud all on the same points.

Trial3 Championship Positions
The battle on day one was between the eventual winner Masdon Vasey and Koby Smith with the winning margin a single mark. On day two Vasey put in another strong performance to take a clear victory to stand at the top of the championship. Scotland’s much travelled Archie Bremner finished runner-up on day two to put him in second in the championship on the same points as Ollie Gundry with Koby Smith in fourth.

With only two riders in the class Niki Louis held the upper hand over Carrie Dickinson on both days.

Trial3 Girls Championship Positions
This was a dominant display over the two days from Sophie Ferguson with Sophie Sellers and Rosy Connor both sharing a second place finish each. Lilly Butterworth was a welcome face on the podium with her third place finish on day one.

Showing his top form all weekend it was Hudson Ravenhill-White who took the two wins in convincing style and with it the full house of 40 points. Samuel Le Fevre holds second in the championship after two consistent rides put him in third position on both days. On day one Mason Tidd took second and on day two it was Tomy Keet to put them in the top four in the championship standings.
