This is the last call to potential
entrants into the first round of the S3 Parts Trials Championship which the
Westmorland Club will be organising from their own land at Firbank near
Sedbergh, Cumbria, on January 26. The entries will close at 6pm on Monday,
January 20.
The opening round of the S3 Parts National Championship starts earlier this year with the Westmorland Club’s Lonsdale Trial taking the place of the Milnthorpe Cup which has previously been the club’s round of this popular series.
The trial takes place on Sunday, January 26 and will start from the club’s own land at Firbank which will be flagged from junction 37 of the M6. The reason for the change of date and trial is because Firbank has a large expanse of hard standing, meaning that for most weather conditions on the day, vehicles can be accommodated, with only deep snow likely to be a problem.
The trial will be over a single lap of approximately 15 miles with 36 sections and a single fuel stop which is visited twice on the route. The severity of the trial will be similar to previous years, so with an indication of the likely scores, last year’s main course winner lost 17 and the clubman course winner lost 15.
Entries can still be made through the Sport 80 system until they close on Wednesday, January 22.
