The Board of Directors would like to announce that Mr Roy Humphrey has decided to step down as Chairman of ACU Limited with immediate effect in order to focus on health issues.
In doing so, the Board would like to acknowledge the extraordinary service Mr Humphrey has given to British motorcycle sport since retiring as an international sidecar motocross competitor. Mr Humphrey is well known for being a serving Board Member and Chair of the South Midland Centre, an event organiser, Off Road Timekeeper for the British Motocross Championship and more recently for introducing the new ACU Trials Scoring APP for the Trial GB series. Alongside which, he has held various roles with ACU Limited, serving for a number of years as Chairman of the National Motocross Sporting Committee and as a main Board member before being elected as company Chairman in 2019, where he later led the organisation through the unprecedented challenges of Covid19.
In recognition of his contribution, the Board would like to announce that Mr Humphrey will become Honorary President of the ACU, a role that will enable him to continue attending as many events as possible, helping Clubs with timekeeping queries and running the Trials Scoring APP for the Trial GB series. Everyone at the ACU would like to express their thanks to Roy for his valuable contribution and to extend their very best wishes to him in his new role.
The Board would also like to announce that in the interim, Mr Tony Steele (Vice-Chair) will take over Mr Humphrey’s responsibilities whilst a replacement Chairman is appointed. Further information regarding this will be provided in due course.
