World Superbike Legend Jonathan Rea Puts in The Laps at Arenacross

Six-time World Superbike Champion Jonathan Rea donned his motocross boots to put in a few practice laps aboard his Kawasaki KX250 on the Arenacross track at the SSE Arena, Belfast, today.

A firm fan of Arenacross, Rea said; “We are really lucky to have Arenacross here in Belfast again. I won a night here in 2002, in fact I split the wins with Shaun Simpson who is racing here tonight. It’s a punishing discipline with many technical aspects. If you make a mistake, it can be costly.

“My World Superbike team at Kawasaki know that motocross is part of me. I always do a motocross camp at the beginning of every year. It’s one of the best sports for me to be mentally sharp.”

Jonathan will be enjoying the Arenacross show from the stands this evening, Saturday the 21st of January, but he hasn’t dismissed getting back out on track to burn some premix.

The second round of the 2023 Arenacross Tour presented by Fix Auto UK returns to the SSE Arena, Belfast, tonight, Saturday the 21st of January. Doors open at 6pm with the Opening Show getting underway at 7.30pm.

Tonight’s show is sold out but Live Streaming is available via You Tube –
