The Patchquick is back!

This Wednesday Evening June 22nd top class motocross action is set to take place at Little Silver Moto Parc Nr Exeter for the coveted Patchquick Trophy which has been kindly sponsored by Monsters of Dirt with the event being hosted by (SWOR) South West Off Road in conjunction with the West of England Motor Club.

The Trophy is said to be worth somewhere in the region of £20,000 and has had many famous names inscribed on it including Tom Whitton who was the first ever winner of the Trophy back in 1934 and won it again in 1937 & 1938. Other winners to name a few over the years include the likes Bob Ray, Jeff Smith, Triss Sharp, Dave Bickers, Neil Hudson, Paul Jarman, Andy Roberton, Vic Allen, Jeremy Whatley plus Dave Thorpe who will be presenting this year’s Trophy who has won the Trophy four times back in 1982, 1983, 1986 and 2003 and the legendary Brian ‘Badger’ Goss who sadly passed away back in 2021 who was the only other rider to win the Trophy four times back in 1963, 1967, 1973 and 1974.

Entries for this year’s event include Cornishman Josh Gilbert who has been many times on the podium but unfortunately not the top spot, so could it be his turn this year as he is on top form at present, other riders who will be looking to be on that top step include the likes of Jake Shipton who has won the Trophy three times including the last winner of the Trophy back in 2019, Tom Grimshaw, Jamie Carpenter, Jay Hague, Dan Thornhill, Sam Nunn, Liam Garland, Luke Dean, James Dodd, Luke Mellows, Louie Kessell and Jeff Perrett returns to competing at the event after winning it way back in 1999 plus Conrad Mewse who confirmed at the weekend that he was fit enough to attend.

Not just is there a class for the Patchquick Trophy with Qualifying determining who goes into the main event but there is also a group A & B class with Shields and prizes up for grabs.

Little Silver Moto Parc is one of the premier tracks in the Country and has excellent viewing with easy parking (Sat Nav EX6 7UD) with all the action getting underway at 4pm with practice/qualifying followed by the main event getting underway at 6pm.
