125 Streetstocks wow racegoers with a spectacular finish

Saturday the 11th of June saw the  50cc and 125cc Streetstock riders go to a sunny but windy Aintree racecourse for the 3rd round of the ACU Championships.

The 1st race of the day, the 125 Streetstock riders  gave a great display of skillful riding and we were treated to a ding dong battle of five riders constantly jockeying for the top spot. From  1st place on lap one. Max Garside found himself in 5th place going into the last lap.

Garside dug in and battled his way to back to the front and took the victory from Max Taylor 2nd and Sam Cookson 3rd Luis Murphy 4th and Dominic Gardner 5th with less than one second covering the first five positions. (see picture)

The 2nd Race was equally competitive, this time Luis Murphy took the flag by half a second over Max Garside, and Sam  Cookson.

Louis Murphy now leads the 125 championship by 6 points over Sam Cookson  who promoted himself to Second place with his two 3rds. Max Garside is just behind Sam in the championship tables.

The 50cc class saw the appearance of former British 125 champion Steve Lawton take the win by over 10 seconds in Race 1 with Owen Monaghan 2nd and Derek Betts  3rd.

Owen won the 2nd race followed home by Derek Betts and has extended his lead in the 50cc championships by 8 points over Derek Betts.
