Scottish Six Day Trial 2022

With a break of 3 years due to covid everyone was buzzing in Fort William in the Scottish Highlands on Sunday for the usual parade of riders through the main street for the start of the Scottish Six Day Trial. According to the number of spectators during the week the event has lost none of its status highly organised as usual by the Edinburgh & District Motor Club since 1911.

With an early 7.30 start on Monday local rider Lewis Bell had the honors to lead the entry of 288 riders on the six day event ahead. With some of the many moor crossing some days were harder than others depending on the riders start times.

When the prize presentation was made at the Nevis Centre on Saturday night it was revealed that Dougie Lampkin was the overall winner with just 8 marks lost followed by two regular competitors at the SSDT Michael Brown on 14 marks and James Dabill on 15 marks.

Also during the presentation South Shropshire MCC rider Thomas Minta for his efforts to finish 10th overall and being the best privateer rider was presented by Gas Gas an all expensive paid trip to the Red Bull Esbergrodeo 2022 in what is classed as the hardest dirt bike race in the world.

Wishing Thomas all the best of luck from all at the ACU Rugby.
