Green Light Nationals - August 21/22nd

Thursday August 12, 2021 at 9:33am

With Championship points leader Stuart Crane not entered for this event, the rest of the racers can close the gap to Crane. On paper Lorcan Parnell has the performance advantage, running 6.674 at 210 in testing before the Summer Nationals.  But had handling problems during that event.  Tony Clark had a great Summer Nationals meeting with four personal best runs, with a best of 7.190.  Clark was runner up at Summer Nationals and would like to get into the winner’s circle. Dave Peters had turbo issues in the last round and has run 7.1secs and could pull a surprise.  Jiri Lukes is chipping away and getting quicker.  Kevin Osman is having issues off the start line but has high top end speed. Once that is sorted Osman could be in with a chance.

Comp Bike.

After a clutch dragged him through the beams in the semi-finals, Louis Davies will be keen to get back to winning ways. Summer Nationals winner Chris Neary is starting to get quicker and could be knocking on the door for another win.  Jordan Kenway is another rider who improved his performance at the Summer Nationals and will want to continue.  Paul Hambridge had a clutch problem and has run in the 7.3secs bracket.

Super Street Bike.

Steve Venables has twice reset the ACU speed record and wants to dip into the 6.7secs, if the weather conditions are right it may happen at the Green Light Nationals. Mark Dainty almost won the Summer Nationals and is one of the main challengers to Venables.  Alan Morrison Jr ran 7.07 with the air clutch system and with more data could go quicker.  Stephen Mead, Mark and Alex Hope are also possible winners.
