Team GB Boost as Duo Declare Fitness

Great Britain’s Under-21 team have been handed a double boost with news of both Belle Vue’s Dan Bewley and Eastbourne’s Tom Brennan declaring themselves fit for the weekend.

Neil Vatcher’s side travel to Outrup in Denmark for the FIM Team Speedway Under-21 World Championship Final where they face the hosts, holders Poland and Latvia.

Also included in the side are Jordan Palin, Leon Flint and Drew Kemp – European Champion Robert Lambert is now over the age limit for this event.

GB youth boss Neil Vatcher said: “It goes without saying that this World Final is going to be an extremely hard meeting, and we will need to be at full strength to enable us to achieve our goal of claiming a medal for the third consecutive year.

“This event was held at the same venue Outrup in Denmark two years ago and on that occasion we claimed the bronze medal with Dan being the highest points scorer at the event.

“All the boys will need to be at their very best again this year for us to achieve a top three finish.

“I am also pleased that both Drew and Jordan have had meetings over this weekend and have achieved good results, which means that we can now go into Saturday’s World Final on the back of some good performances and also with fully a fit squad.”
