King’s Lynn and GB star Robert Lambert leads the Speedway Euro Championship heading into the deciding round at Torun on Wednesday.
Lambert’s victory in Gniezno last week left him two points ahead of former winner Leon Madsen with one meeting remaining, and the two main contenders have been drawn to meet in Heat 1. Russian racer Grigory Laguta is a further seven points behind.
And a further incentive is that the winner of the SEC will handed a guaranteed place in next season’s Grand Prix series.
Lambert said: “It’s going to be very hard on Wednesday, and a big fight between me and Leon to get that top spot at the end.
“It will be a tough fight in the last round to get all the points that I need. I'm going to try to get that top position and it definitely will be my main goal in Toruń.”
The action from Torun is live on British Eurosport 2 from 6pm.
