Due to the ongoing concerns and government sanctions in the light of Covid -19 Ledbury MC and LCC regret to announce the cancellation of the 2020 British Grass Track Championships due to be held on the 19th September 2020. The decision was made after careful consideration and in consultation with ACU Track Racing Committee.
Club secretary Sally Palmer confirmed that the overriding factor behind the decision was the concern over the health and well-being of competitors, club officials and the public.
With secondary but important issues to consider such as, currently the government do not allow the paying public, and taking into account the economic hardship that the loyal sponsors will have faced over the last three months, the club have decided that it would be in the best interests of the sport to keep everyone safe and to cancel the event.
The ACU Track Racing Chairman also confirmed it is a sad but sensible decision in the circumstances that has the full backing of the Track Racing Committee given the current circumstances. Hopefully though, the situation will improve over the coming months which will enable the club to be in a much better situation to stage the event next year having confirmed they will be offered the first option to stage the event in 2021.
