Day One from the ISDE for Team GB
The dust has settled from the first day of the of the event here in Portugal, Great Britain took a massive hit with World Champion Brad Freeman going out of the event with a broken bone in his arm, Joe, Alex and Danny still came away with solid results to solidify 4th overall after day 1.

The UK’s top man of the day Joe Wootton said, ‘A solid first day. Got them first day nerves out the way and looking forward to getting into a rhythm for the rest of the week and build on my 13th scratch result. Today’s and tomorrow’s tests aren’t my favourite but I’ll still be out there putting everything out on the line’

The Junior squad had a consistent day with a super competitive class, the team came home with a P5 overall. I’m sure they’ll be looking at moving up the ranks in the following days.

Alex Walton came home 60th scratch and told us how his day way, ‘Had a steady start to the week with a consistent day 1 not my type of tests but try for a better position in the coming days. A bit nervous starting as it’s my first one but we’re running top 5 as a team in junior trophy which is a solid start hopefully progress through the week and keep it consistent!’

The Women’s team also has a good day bringing home 4th overall. At the end of the day Rosie had to say, ‘My day wasn’t the best start on the first lap, test times slowly gained speed into the 2nd lap, on time at each check into a difficult tyre change at the end due to moose’s swelling, all came together in the end, looking forward to day 2 to settle into faster test times for the team to gain a top 3’
