Busto Signs Up for Sheffield
Factory Vertigo rider Jaime Busto is the latest rider to sign up for the 25th anniversary edition of Sheffield Indoor Trial that will take place at the FlyDSA arena on Saturday 28th December 2019. Since his arrival proper on the World stage back in 2015, many have tipped the Spanish youngster to be the rider most likely to eventually depose Toni Bou from his Trial throne. Confirming the threat he poses Busto pushed Bou hard earlier this year when he finished as a close runner up to the current and undisputed King of Sheffield.

A late and unexpected shift of machinery just before the start of the outdoor World series has seen Jaime adjusting to his new mount whilst still producing results that reinforce his status as potentially the next World Champion in waiting.

Busto impressed on his Sheffield debut back in January 2017 by placing third in the heat behind Adam Raga and Toni Bou, before taking an eventual fourth spot as James Dabill also managed to get the better of the then teenage star in the four-rider final. Jaime’s return to the Steel city twelve months later proved less fruitful as he narrowly missed out on a spot in the main event and had to settle for being the best of the non-qualifiers just in front of Dabill, as this time he turned the tables on his more experienced British rival.

The now twenty-one-year-old who will celebrate his twenty second birthday just prior to touching down in the UK for his fourth appearance at Sheffield Indoor Trial come late December, will be eager to get one over Bou and his other older opponents and add his name to the elite group of riders who have lifted the winners’ trophy since the first running of the event in January 1996. To date only Dougie Lampkin, Bou, Raga and Albert Cabestany have managed this feat over the previous twenty-four editions of this now World famous competition.

Speaking on behalf of Avondale Management, Dougie Lampkin said. “There is no doubt that Busto is certainly a real talent, but it is also fair to say that I don’t think we have seen his full potential yet. He is still young and learning his trade, and has had to deal with the pressure that comes when everyone labels you as ‘the next big thing’. Back in January he certainly kept Toni on his toes and I am sure that when he comes back to Sheffield this December he will be looking to go one better.”

“For obvious reasons I’m slightly biased, but I would have no objection in seeing Jaime on the top step of the podium in Vertigo colours.” Ended Dougie.

Bou, Raga, Busto and Dabill have been confirmed for the 25th anniversary event, with the remaining line up to be confirmed very soon.

Ticket prices are held again at the same level as the previous editions - £32.50 for adults and £22.50 for under 14s.
