Billy Bolt to battle at 2019 Weston Beach Race!
RHL Activities is pleased to announce that Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing rider and World Enduro Super Series champion Billy Bolt will be returning for his second attempt at the notoriously tough Weston Beach Race on October 18 to 20 2019.

Enduro star Bolt, who has been recovering from injury over winter, enjoyed an outstanding race season in 2018 and is pleased to be announcing his plan to compete in Weston-Super-Mare later this year. The 21-year-old from Newcastle, who is popular with race fans, recently returned to competition following a long stint of rehabilitation and is looking forward to preparing for the Weston Beach Race, where he’s hoping improve on the impressive podium finish he achieved during his debut last year.

Bolt has conquered some of the toughest events on the planet – having raced at the likes of the hard enduro races such as the Megawatt in Poland, Erzberg race in Austria and Romaniacs event in Romania, the former trials-ace just loves riding his dirtbike. Runner-up in the 2017 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship followed by his WESS victory and Weston Beach Race podium, Bolt has missed riding over the winter, but is currently making his comeback and the Husqvarna star is happy to be at the Weston-Super-Mare event for a second time in front of his home fans.

The Weston Beach Race is the maddest, baddest and biggest motorsport event in the UK. With racing on track over the enormous dune course combined with an array of off-track entertainment, it’s a great weekend for all of the family. Bolt will be sure to be putting up a fight this year – this is a race that is easier to compete in with experience, and Bolt was the highest placed finisher of riders competing in the event for the first time last year. While tactics come into play, the races are also incredibly difficult for man and machine with luck, preparation and grit playing an important part.

RHL Activities are busy with plans for this year’s race, in which it’s expected over 1,000 competitors, both amateur and pros, will line-up for Sunday’s main event. With quads, sidecars, juniors and solos, there will be plenty of things to see and do.

Billy Bolt – Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing
“I’m really excited to be coming back to the Weston Beach Race. I really enjoyed the race and the whole event last year. I think it’s great that so many people are involved; so many riders, so many spectators, and it’s a really great event for the UK scene. I surpassed all of my expectations last year by finishing on the podium at my first attempt at the race, so I obviously would like to match or improve that, but I think it will be a bit more difficult this year. The preparation I’ve had so far this year hasn’t gone to plan with a leg injury in December, so I think I’m not really having too many expectations. I’ll be training as hard as I can, and as hard as my body allows, and I’ll be racing at the events we have before then. We’ll see what happens, but I’m definitely looking forward to it and another great weekend.”

Gareth Hockey – Director of RHL Activities
“We are really excited that Billy will be returning to the Weston Beach Race this year. He’s popular with the fans, and after such a good race last year where he finished on the podium, I’m sure he’ll be a contender at this year’s event. The plans for the event are coming along nicely, and we’re looking forward to a fantastic weekend of great racing and entertainment. We’ll be making more announcement in the coming weeks.”
