It is with great regret that MWTRA are having to cancel their Powys Enduro on 11th August due to increasing incidences of illegal riding in an area of the Dyfi forest crucial to the event. An application to use the land has been refused for this reason. The result is that rounds of both the Sidecar and Classic Enduro Championships have been lost and the damage to the Sport and potentially the ACU’s relationship with Natural Resources Wales is evident
See below an excerpt of the email sent to MWTRA from the NRW , the body who control use of the Forest in Wales in response to their application.
“The issue (of illegal motorcycle riding in the Dyfi Forest ) has escalated in the past couple of years in this area , and we've been responding to requests from the local community, neighbouring land owners and police to tackle the issues here. Holding this event here at a time when there's still ongoing issues wouldn't be appropriate, so I'm afraid I must refuse your request for this area”
