FSRA / Lane Building Services Pre-Injection Sidecar Championship Starts on Sunday
The 2019 F.S.R.A. / Lane Building Services Pre-Injection Sidecar Championship kicks off next Sunday (April 7th) at Leicestershire's Mallory Park circuit. This biggest change to this increasingly popular series is that following discussions and a vote at the A.G.M. last November, is that there are now two distinctive “classes” within the championship.

The class split has been instigated due to the increased support and popularity of the championship. Put simply, there is now a class which emulates “F2 Sidecar Racing” from the 80's and 90's, which will see fourstroke machinery with a capacity limit of 600cc competing along with two strokes up to 350cc. All other variations of machinery will compete in the “F1 Class”.

Best wishes go to last year’s championship winners John Shipley / Milo Ward who have decided to join the ACU / F.S.R.A. British F2 Sidecar Championship. Also joining them are Mark Burns / Steve Winfrow. Last year's runners up Simon Horton / Adam Buxton have also acquired a modern F2 machine, and are planning to compete as “wild cards” in some British Championship events, and a full E.M.R.A. Championship campaign.

This year’s Pre-Injection F2 class will no doubt be a very close fought affair. In 2018, the overall third place and first 600 team were the Chandler brothers, John and Doug, and they will be looking to consolidate their position as the top “F2” P.I. crew. However, they will face tough competition from returning ex-champions, and former multi-T.T. Winners Rob Fisher / Rick Long. Other returnees, who had consistent showings last season include the “Graphic Racing” outfits of Hayley Christie / Matthew Simms and Jody / Reece Simms.

The F1 class is now wide open with last year’s top three teams moving to other series, so could this be a year for the big two strokes to come to the fore? Or will the big fourstroke machines continue to rule the roost in this section.

Thank you to E.M.R.A. who host this opening round of the series, and for their continued support, extending over many years. Many thanks also go to Adrian Lane Building Services, PAGID Brake Pads and the Formula Sidecar Racing Club (F.S.R.A.) for their continued support and sponsorship of our championship.
