Following the announcement last year that the Keedwell British Trials Championship has been re branded the ACU are now delighted to announce that a meeting for all interested parties will be held at ACU House in Rugby on Saturday 19th
The meeting will be an opportunity to officially announce Brian Higgins as the Series Manager and give him chance to outline the changes which will have immediate effect.
Of course, the first is the re branding for the series to be called ACU TrialGB with long term partner Keedwell Transport remaining as title sponsor.
It is hoped that Stuart Keedwell will attend the meeting and invitations have already gone out to the UK’s Trials Importers and the Organisers of the individual events for 2019. Any riders who intend to compete in the 2019 series are welcome, but the ACU would appreciate advance indication of this for logistical purposes.
Starting at 11am, Higgins will use a power point Presentation to outline the changes for 2019 which will include a new dedicated website, an official warm up area for riders, a reduced five-and-a-half-hour time limit and unveiling a completely new podium for the events. Of course, the re-named classes to be ACU TrialGB, ACU Trial2, ACU Expert and ACU Trial125 have already been announced.
He has disclosed that around ninety personal letters have already been sent out to the top riders in the UK, both existing Championship regulars and some new faces, who are certainly capable of posting good results. The bulk of these are in the ACU Trial Expert class which for 2019 will again feature a three lap 12 section course.
Higgins continues, “Of course, with people giving up their time to support this meeting it will not only be about my role - or the ACU. The 2019 series will begin a partnership between Organisers, Teams, Riders and Sponsors and this will be an important opportunity for everyone to give their views. However, with the FIM keeping the “No stop” rule for 2019 it will remain for this year, but we will allow discussion at the end of the meeting for 2020 and beyond”. Anyone interested in attending is asked to e-mail Higgins direct at email@example.com
or Mary Kerr at the ACU office, firstname.lastname@example.org
