RT Keedwell ACU British Trials Championship Moves to Hafren on the 30th September

Saturday September 15, 2018 at 4:16pm
Hafren Dirt Bike Club have successfully organised World, European and British Championship enduros, national Trail Bike Rallies, Welsh Championship trials and are now at the helm of the penultimate round of the 2018 RT Keedwell British Trials Championship, so with such a prestigious history, the BTC trial on Sunday, September 30 should be in good hands.

This is the first time Hafren will have tackled such a major trial, but the land and the club enthusiasm is sure to produce a cracking event, in fact club members have been busy for weeks clearing areas for new sections, with some impressive new gullies and streams uncovered, along with some of the areas used for last year's successful Welsh Championship round. The format for BTC events is 3 laps of 12 sections, and they will be a real mix, including steep sided rocky gullies, streams, and muddy rooty banks, with a couple of really challenging ones to test the top guys.

The expert route will be sensible for club level expert riders, with the aim of a fun day for all. The route will be a good ride round in some amazing Welsh countryside, with spectacular views. The format for BTC rounds is a Championship class, a Masters class and the aforementioned Experts class so there is a category for any reasonable level rider, which makes this sixth round of the series definitely one to tackle for it is to most riders a totally new venue with very traditional sections.

The venue is Glynhafren Farm, Old Hall, Llanidloes SY18 6PS, home of the Multi British Enduro Champions Geraint, Rowan and Dylan Jones and also venue for the Yamaha Off-Road Experience. The start area and camping are on good flat dry grass fields on the valley floor in a beautiful setting. All sections are within walking distance of the paddock, and admission is free for spectators. There will be toilets, catering, and PA on site, interviewing some of the riders keeping everybody updated and informed of the results as they happen at the end of each lap. Entries are now available on the ACU online system, so make that entry now for what promises to be a brilliant first BTC round by this go-ahead club.
