European Finals at Santa Pod Raceway this Weekend

Wednesday September 5, 2018 at 4:17pm
The third and final round of the 2018 European FIM Championships takes place on the 6-9th September at Santa Pod Raceway.

Top Fuel Bike.

Filippos Papafilippou leads the championship after winning the opening two rounds and has a 68 points lead over Eric Richard.  Rene Van Den Berg and Steve Woollatt could stop Papfilippou from winning the event, both riders have run low six-second passes.

SuperTwins.

Marcus Christiansen is 87 points ahead of both Reigning Champion Martijn De Haas and Ronny Aasen and needs 8 points to win his first European FIM Championship.  Allan Davies and Neil Midgley will be hoping to win their home event.

Pro Stock Bike.

Alex Hope win at Hockenheim has put him in the points lead of 37 points over Bertrand Maurice who won the opening round of the championship here at Santa Pod early in the season.  Martin Newbury ran personal best figures of 7.162-189.87mph in Hockenheim.  He could decide which way the championship goes. Another rider to look out for is Charly Abraham who also ran a personal best 7.254-180.09mph.

Super Street Bike.

Reigning champion Richard Stubbins leads last year’s runner up in the championship Mogens Lund by 50 points coming into this event.  Steve Venables is a further 2 points behind.  Mathematically (101 points behind Stubbins) Rudi Zorzi has a chance if the three riders ahead of him have major problems.  Hockenheim winner Graham Balchin and former champion Garry Bowe and Daniel Lencses could win the event.  Two other riders to look out for are Stephen Mead ran p/b of 7.113 at Hockenheim and Rudolfo Maduro has a best of 7.149.
