Redline Rumble at Santa Pod Raceway

Monday August 6, 2018 at 11:34am
The Redline Rumble event is a double header, meaning round three of the ACU Championship will be run on Saturday August 18th and round four on Sunday 19th.  There will be qualifying and eliminations on each day.  There will be only two classes competing in the ACU Championships, Funny Bike and Comp Bike.

Funny Bike.

Lorcan Parnell reset the ACU et and speed records at the Summernationals and there still more performance to come from the bike.  Former champions Dave Peters and Phil Crossley will be hoping to win the events.   Dave Buttery has had some bad luck but the bike has run 7.3secs, so he could be a dark horse if any of the other riders have problems.

Comp Bike.

With Summernationals winner Jeroen Van Den Belt not entered, Sean Mills will be hoping for plenty of points and resetting his ACU speed record.  Scott Collier will be the man everyone has watch out for after running personal bests in the 7.3sec bracket at the Summernationals.  Sigmaro Profas from Holland is another rider to look out for ran 7.60 at the Summernationals.  Dave Batcheler, Martin Walker and Daniel Bergelin all raised their game in the last round.  Former Champion Kevin Osman makes his first appearance of the season and John McLean Sr makes his debut in the championship with his new bike.

There are two SuperTwin bikes entered for this event, they are doing some testing in preparation for next months European Finals meeting.  Allan Davies on the Puma V Twin has altered the gearing and will be trying a different fuel set up.   Neil Midgley will also be testing to sort out detonation issue he had at the Main Event.

Super Street Bike.

With round 3 of the European FIM Championship taking place at Hockenheim,on the same weekend.  A handful of riders will be attending the Redline Rumble in a non-points round of the ACU Championship.  Former champion Garry Bowe has gone back to last years set up and will be looking to run a six at the event.  Pete Field has had a lot of various issues this year.  Graham Dance damaged his motor at the Summernationals.  Dave Smith is getting used to his air clutch and newcomer Mark Dainty will be looking for more mid-seven second passes.
