The Sidecar Stars Head to The Home of The Stars!
This Saturday (July 14th) King’s Lynn Speedway hosts the 3rd round of British Sidecar Speedway Championships at Saddlebow Road, home of the King’s Lynn Stars.

Paul Whitelam/Alan Elliott lead the way, with a six point advantage over last year’s British Champions Mark Cossar/Carl Blyth and Mick Cave/Bradley Steer.

Whitelam/Elliott will be hoping to carry forward the form that won them the Somerset Sidecar Spectacular International last month. On the same note Team Cossar and Team Cave will want to forget that night. A costly night for both teams who blew engines and had to retire from the meeting. But with no British Championship points at stake at Somerset, Whitelam/Elliott are still well within range and an exciting night is on the cards for the Norfolk track on Saturday.

Rod Winterburn/Billy Winterburn are back after missing the last round and Rob Wilson/Terry Saunters are getting quicker now they are familiar with their new outfit. A podium at the Somerset International will no doubt boost their confidence. Mick Stace is much happier now he has sorted a regular speedway passenger with Roddy Stirling and again a good result at Somerset proved how important a good bond between driver and passenger is essential in this sport.

Tom Cossar/Wayne Rickards will want to transfer some of their grasstrack form onto the speedway circuit. Neville Penfold/Kev Jones who had a nasty looking crash in practice last time out is back. They had a tremendous third place in round 2 and can’t wait to get back on track and get back to winning ways.

Clint Blondell is heading over from Guernsey and Will Penfold has Ryan Wharton as passenger to replace the injured Ricky Pay.

It’s a massive night for all as points from only two rounds carry through to final. So if teams have missed a round or had a ‘bad night in the office’ it’s a chance to make up with a improved score so you can drop your lowest. The Belle Vue Final is being held on Saturday 13th October that’s a fixture not to be missed.

So we have 18 outfits all lined-up and ready to go. That’s over 20 races of fairing scraping sidecar speedway action for only £10 adults with under 16’s free.
