David Knight MBE to take on HydroGarden Weston Beach Race with the SR75 Suzuki Team
RHL Activities is excited that enduro legend David Knight MBE has announced that he will be back to compete at the 2018 HydroGarden Weston Beach Race, which takes place on October 19-21, and his preparation for the event is already underway with the SR75 Suzuki Team.

One of the toughest riders on the planet, David ‘Knighter’ Knight MBE is a four-time FIM Enduro World Champion, four-time AMA Champion and a multi-time winner in both the solo and quad class of the world-famous HydroGarden Weston Beach Race. Knighter raced the event last year where he finished runner-up to Todd Kellett. The Manxman was happy with his comeback result following a turbulent time with health issues and is looking forward to being back on the beach with the aim of re-taking the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race solo crown.

Knight is confident that his new partnership with Geoff Walker’s SR75 Suzuki Team will provide him with everything to challenge this year for the win. It has been confirmed that the enduro-ace will contest the 6km long course aboard a SR75 RM-Z450 and the team are working on a full beach race specification machine.

David Knight MBE:
“I’m very happy to be working with Geoff at SR75 and Suzuki for this year’s HydroGarden Weston Beach Race. The race is very special to me and being the rider with the most Weston wins is also nice, but I want to win more and this is a great chance to do that. Obviously, I will have very stiff competition like always, but last year I managed second place with next to no preparation and this year I will be ready. I am also trying to sort out a quad to race again as well, which will make it an extra-special weekend.”

Gareth Hockey, Director of RHL Activities:
“It’s great to have David coming back to the beach in 2018 to battle for the overall win in the Adult Solo class following a strong performance last year with his runner-up finish. Knighter has competed at the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race over many years and his name is synonymous with the event, so it’s great to have him back – he’s a real fighter with a lot of experience. It would also be fantastic if he has the opportunity to race in both the quad and solo classes on the same weekend; we look forward to hearing about his progress throughout the lead-up to the event.”

We will catch up with Knighter and the SR75 Suzuki Team in the coming months as we and they prepare for the UK’s maddest, baddest and biggest motorsport event.
