Dabill Wins Anthony Rew British Trials Championship Round
After a year at Ruby Rocks the West of England Club returned to their other Championship venue at Kelly Farm.

The 2 pieces of land are very different, a nice problem for the organisers of round 4 of the R T Keedwell sponsored series.

James Dabill had won all 3 rounds to date and Sunday proved to be no different as he set the best score once again beating his nearest rival Jack Price by six marks. These two pulled clear of the rest of the field posting opening laps of eight and nine marks lost respectively. Section 7 with a wicked uphill tight rocky climb was the section that probably made the difference early on as Price stopped and Dabill just managed to escape for three marks lost.

Dan Peace had been the star here on lap 1 with a superb clean and he would eventually finish in a very good third place. Nice also to see Jack Sheppard making progress once again.

Ross Danby took the Masters Class with a convincing win over Sam Haslam. Ross looked very comfortable on the 50/50 route posting eight more cleans than anyone else in the group.

Chris Smith led the Youth Elite after lap 1 but Gus Oblien hauled his way past by setting the pace on laps 2&3 which gave him the win by four marks from series leader Mitchell Brightmore.

The Expert class has seen Richard Sadler take a second and two wins to date and he leads the series standings. On the day he had to give best to Joe Baker the Devon man who reminded everyone how good he still is.

Saddles improved lap on lap however and took second from series rival Guy Kendrew by three marks but neither could stay with Baker whose two opening laps had taken him clear.
