Bolt wins the Putoline Eurotek Extreme Ravines
Helmsley’s Duncombe Park was the home of Extreme Ravines and the setting for the 4th round of the Fast Eddy ACU British Extreme Championship. Extreme Ravines is unique in the championship with its long single lap format controlled by check points.

The weather was warmer with some heavy showers which made some parts of the course very interesting.

At 9.30 the riders were flagged away in a hare scramble start, the Championship/Pro class had 22 check points. Expert and Elite Vets 16, Clubman and Vets 10 and Sportsmen and Youth 8, Jono Richardson on the Beta was the first of the Pro riders to the moor gullies but made a mistake and Billy Bolt on his Rockstar Husqvarna took the lead, as the riders arrived at check 2 Eurotek KTM’s Sam Winterburn was in the lead by the end of check 6 and a tough hill climb for the Pros. Billy Bolt emerged first but opted to refuel allowing Jonny Walker on the KTM Red Bull Factory Racing to take the lead with Bolt second and Paul Bolton Eurotek KTM 3rd.

Billy Bolt regained the lead by the 3rd inner loop and as the race entered the final third he had pulled out a 1 minute lead over Jonny Walker. Billy Bolt finished with a 69 second winning margin over Jonny Walker in second, Paul Bolton put in another great performance to finish 3rd.

Luke Flack on the Acklams Beta won the Expert Class from Joe Deakin, these two riders were neck and neck on the Garlic Hill with 6km to go to the finish, but Luke squeezed out a 42 second winning margin and Sam Ludgat was 3rd.

In the Elite Vet’s Kieran Hankin was the winner 36 seconds ahead of Harold Crawford and Andrew Reeves in 3rd. Mick Boam won the Vet’s from Mark Houson, Stuart Mack won the Clubman from Gas Gas mounted Dawson Marriott, Shane Tasker making a rare competitive outing was 3rd.

The Sportsman and Youth routes missed out some of the more difficult sections Jamie Williams won the Youths from William Stansbie and Richard Moorhouse on the Sherco was 3rd, in the Sportsman class Jack Winn was the victor from Chris Brown with Robert Allen in third.

Dirtbike-action would like to thank all the marshals and check point personnel without your help events like this would not be possible.

Don’t forget the series moves to a brand new venue in Cumbria on the 20th May for the Wulfsport  D3racing Hawkshead Extreme, entries are available now via www.dirtbike-action.co.uk.
