It is with great sadness that the ACU have been informed of the sad passing of Track Racing photographer Alan Whale. Alan was a photography legend within the Track Racing community and will be sadly missed by a great many people associated with the sport across the world.
Alan passed away on Thursday afternoon (15
th March) and leaves behind his wife Mo and a loving family.
For many years Alan was a huge asset to the Track Racing community supporting clubs, organisers and riders over many years via his involvement in improving the professionalism of the sport both through the lens of his many cameras, as well as his production of event programmes.
At the end of the 2016 season Alan was awarded the Bill Smith Special Merit Awards for his contributions to the sport of Track Racing by the ACU Track Racing Committee.
The ACU would like to send our thoughts and prayers to his wife Mo and his extended family at this very sad time.
