James Evans faces a battle to get himself fit and also repair his damaged Pro Bike Racing Yamaha 600 in time for the fourth and final round of the Crewe and South Cheshire club’s championships at Tonfanau on August 27.

The 33-year-old motorcycle dealer from Shrewsbury crashed heavily at Anglesey on August 13, damaging his elbow and ribs and making a big mess of the bike.

He holds a 17-point lead over his closest rival, Grant Gaskell and a 23 point advantage over Chris Mort, in the 450-1100cc series, with 30 points still to be won in the final three races.

John Price is in with a great chance of retaining his two club crowns. He has a 20 point lead over Tony Griffiths in the 400 Supersport championship and trails Phil Millard by just two points in the Forgotten Era 251-500cc series.

Tony Griffiths leads Dean Ephgrave by only nine points in the hard-fought Steel Frame competition.

Practice starts at 9.00am and racing at noon.
