Manx Grand Prix riders took the chance for more practice laps ahead of next week’s races and first on the track this morning were the Senior and Junior riders
Michael Evans improved his fastest Senior MGP lap of the week to an impressive 122.19 on his Martin Bullock Motorsport Suzuki to top the Senior board with Joe Fargher on the Honda / MCN air conditioning bike also posting his fastest Senior time of the week, clocking 118.97.
In the Junior class Dean Osborne (122.358) clocked his first 120mph lap of the week to top the Junior board and he will be sure to challenge Evans in the Senior at that pace. Jamie Williams (119.752), Royce Rowe (119.694), Barry Lee Evans (119.651), Michael Evans (119.298) and Glenn Harrison (119.210) all posted laps of 119mph+ with only Michael and Barry Lee Evans riding a separate Junior bike to the one that they will campaign in the Friday’s Senior Manx Grand Prix.
In the Newcomers A class a number of riders showed that they will be on the pace both for Monday’s race and the Senior or Junior - depending on which they are competing in – none more so that Darryl Tweed who improved his best time to 117.047. Tweed will start favourite for Monday’s Newcomer A race and also goes in Friday’s Senior MGP Race.
Other newcomers to show improvement include Brad Vicars (116.477) and Andrew Fisher (116.477) while in the Newcomers B class David Quine comfortably tops the leaderboard with his fastest time of the week – 107.776.
Later in the evening, the Newcomers A and B got a second chance to get a couple of laps in while the MGP Lightweight riders also went out in the session.
Darryl Tweed posted another pair of near identical quick laps (116.69 and 116.66) while Brad Vicars was also over the 115mph mark. In the newcomers B class David Quine also added two more fast laps to his impressive total (106.98 and 105.13).
Andrew Farrell was the fastest on the evening in the Lightweight class with a lap of 112.78 with Victor Lopez Santos (112.45) and Royce Rowe (112.11) also posting 112+mph laps.
