The penultimate round of the 2017 ACU Championship takes place at Shakespeare County Raceway on the Bank Holiday weekend of 26-28th August.

Funny Bike.

Allan Davies could win the Funny Bike championship if he wins the event.  Eric Richard has been dominating the last two rounds, winning Race Rock n Ride and was the number one qualifier at the Summernationals that was not completed.  Reigning Funny Bike Champion Phil Crossley has suffered handling problem all season and lies in second place 240 points behind.  Former champion Dave Peters has run 7.3secs early in the season, but has had a couple of problems recently and will be hoping to find his form again.

Comp Bike.

Reigning Comp Bike Champion Eddy Smiley has a big points lead and could be crowned champion at Shakespeare County.  Martin Walker is in second place 440 points behind Smiley.  Sean Mills ran 7.522 at the Summernationals and will be hoping for better luck than his last visit where he didn’t qualify.   Mick Winyard has had some success at Shakespeare County in the past and could win again.  Scott Collier is another seven-second rider and could shake things up.  Dave Batcheler ran career best figures at Summernationals and could run quicker at this event.

Super Street Bike.

Chris Reed is getting use to his new gearbox and will be looking to improve his performance.  Dave Thomas has knocked 4/10ths off his personal best at the last two events, he has raced and there is still more to come.  Former NAST Gas and Street Champion Dave Smart has entered the event.
