RT Keedwell British Trials Championship – Anthony Rew Report
This Saturday saw riders in the R T Keedwell sponsored British Trials Championships head to the South

The event was on Saturday and the venue was Ruby Rocks not Kelly farm which has been used for several years. Ruby Rocks at Bagtor Barton, Islington near to Bickington and is based on uphill rocky and moss-covered stream sections.

The main Championship is currently being led by Jack Price who had won three of the four events to date. Price still leads the Championship but this time he had to settle for third place behind the vastly experienced Michael Brown and Jack Sheppard. Virtually all the entry got better scores as the laps went by and this would not be unexpected given the conditions. Brown took the lead on lap 1 and he was never to be headed. He posted a second lap for just one dab at section six. Jack Sheppard as consistent as ever also had a great second circuit with losses of just four marks which was more than enough to keep Jack Price at bay.

There is plenty of interest throughout the entry however. Andy Chilton on the lone Scorpa took fourth place his best ever result in the senior class just two marks behind the last podium position. Toby Martyn was a good fifth and Jack Peace sixth having got the better of his older brother on this occasion.

In the Expert Class James Fry held a small lead over Richard Sadler with Dan Thorpe in third place.  There was to be no win for any of the series regulars however as local Joe Baker was in the entry and he would finish two marks in front of Richard Sadler with his oppo Dan Thorpe third. Fry finished in an unaccustomed sixth place which means Sadler now moved into top place in the standings with three rounds remaining.

The new star in the Youth A class with Billy Green has now won all five of the rounds held. Billy was once again simply been superb. He now holds a 23-point lead over Josh Hanlon with Duncan MacColl in third overall.  Green dropped just 17 marks on the day and was well clear of Oliver Smith who finished second with MacColl third on the day.
