The ACU Motocross Department regretfully announce the resignation of Mr Lee Smith a member of the Motocross Committee.
Mr Smith informed the Committee Chairman of his decision shortly after the meeting held recently. Mr Smith said "It is with much sadness that I have decided to relinquish my position on the Motocross Committee, it isn't a decision that I have taken lightly or easily. When I stood for election it seemed likely that through injury my son may be retiring from racing, this hasn't proved to be the case and he has made a full recovery, this coupled with an increased workload from my business interests has left me in a position where I simply do not have the time to fully commit to the demands of being a Committee member"
ACU MX Committee Chairman Steve McCauley said "It is never a good situation when a member decides to leave Mid-Term, however, credit must go to Lee for his difficult decision and for having the courage to make the correct judgement for all concerned. We must now look to the future and the stability of the Committee moving forward".
