Racing returns to Tonfanau on May 28th

Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 5:13pm
Paul Williams and James Evans are level pegging on points at the top of the Crewe and South Cheshire club’s 401-1100cc championship after the first of the season’s four rounds at Tonfanau, but if Evans thinks life is going to be easier in round two, just because Williams is absent, he can think again.

Evans had two second places, was runner-up to Williams in races one and two, back in April and then won the third to end the day on 28 points.

This time, in addition to Grant Gaskell, who is second in the points, four behind the leader, Evans will have to take on the reigning 401-1100cc champion, Chris Mort and last season’s fourth place finisher, Mike Norbury.

John Price is on target to retain the Tonfanau Formula 400 and Forgotten Era 251-500cc titles. Beaten just once in 18 races last season he has won all six outings this season.

The race meeting consists of 21 races for solos and sidecars, including the Kelvin Beckett Memorial events. Practice begins at 9,0am and racing gets underway at noon. Adult admission is £6.
