Holmes turns the tables to head back to the Top of the British Quad Championship
Paul Holmes returned to the top of the ACU British Quad Championship without winning a race after a real spectacle of top quality riding at Landrake in Cornwall. With an unexpected down pour of 10mm of rain on Saturday afternoon the event looked in doubt, but after some tremendous track work by the land owner and his crew ,the event was on and it saw 3 separate race winners .and some tremendous racing all day ,with dust kicking up by moto 2

Fastest in qualifying was Holmes over Carl Bunce and David Cowan. Race 1 and it was Brad Frost with the hole shot over Dafydd Davies, but they were both soon overhauled by Championship leader Mark McLernon who quickly built up a commanding lead. Bunce came through to second, but it was behind him in the race for 3rd that saw the changes in the latter part of the race. Firstly Frost running 4th and holding off  Holmes lost a wheel with four laps to go and then Davies who was looking a comfortable 3rd suffered an engine seizure with two laps to go to open the door for Holmes to take 3rd ---and what an important few extra points that proved to be on the day!

On to race 2 and a storming Hole shot from wildcard George Day. Looking back at the start line and McLernon looked in trouble as he was dead last off the line leaving him self an impossible task. The race was on ahead of him and it was Day who backed his hole shot up with a determined performance to take the win over Bunce in 2nd and George Callaway in 3rd. McLernon worked on damage limitation and got back to a credible 10th place.

Going in to race 3 and with two seconds in the first two races, was this to be Bunce’s day or could Holmes take the glory?

From the gate it was “Luckless” George Callaway who lead the way and what followed was a pure master class of racing between Callaway and Holmes. Lap after lap Holmes looked to get by, but a determined Callaway matched him all the way and held his lines to take a well deserved win over Holmes by just 0.5 secs. At the finish flag,

However, the biggest smile of the day ended up on the face of Paul Holmes who with consistant  3rd, a 4th and a 2nd, took the overall win and now leads the Championship by a slender one point over Mark McLernon.

Under 21 class was won by Callum Bates, with Walker experiencing a rare engine failure

In Moto 2, Davies experiencing the same but was over the 50% margin and Bevan there to pick up third
