Mark Chamberlain Appointed Team GB Manager for MXON
Following the recent resignation of Neil Prince as the MXoN Team Manager, the ACU Motocross Committee would like to thank Neil for his hard work and achievements during the last 5 years in the position.

It is never an easy job as Team Manager but Neil has always been professional with the ACU, riders and worked within the constraints of budgets and riders availability to be able to field the strongest team possible to represent Team GB. Unfortunately bad luck has robbed the team and Neil the podium results which they deserved in recent years.

Moving forward the ACU Motocross Committee are pleased to announce that Mark Chamberlain has been appointed as the new Team Manager for the 2017 event at Matterley Basin. The Committee have recently had an initial meeting with Mark prior to being appointed and were impressed by his outlook and vision for Team GB moving towards this year’s and future seasons.

Mark will now begin the process of monitoring rider’s performances during the season, along with building a team to help support and promote the selected squad in the lead up to and at the event.

Newly appointed Team Manager, Mark Chamberlain commented by saying "I'm extremely proud to be the Team GB manager for 2017 and hopefully beyond. It's a huge honour and especially being a home event at Matterley. We have a good group of riders to choose from and I hope they all have strong seasons so that the decision on Team selection is a tough one! The job starts now and I'll be working hard to make sure the Team performance is maximised come October 1st".

ACU Motocross Chairman Steve McCauley commented “Firstly I wish to add my personal thanks to Neil for the amazing job he has done for Team GB. Not only has he fulfilled the role so well but he has consistently delivered year in year out and has been an absolute pleasure for myself and my predecessors to work with. We would wish Neil every success in his future projects and know he will still be heavily involved and around the UK Motocross scene.

Moving forward this year's MXON event on home soil undoubtedly has the potential to be one of if not the biggest event ever, not only in the UK but possibly worldwide as well. Having spoken to Mark at length we are confident that he is the right man to fill Neil's position. Mark impressed us with his approach and the fresh ideas he has to possibly take Team GB up another level on the world scene. We will give Mark every support possible in this new and challenging position.

We have some extremely good riders competing at home and abroad, every UK rider should be showing his potential and hoping to be picked for the team to ride in front of what will be a huge partisan crowd. It's been said before but at the risk of repeat, this is undoubtedly our best shot at a podium finish and who knows with skill and maybe a little good fortune Team GB could even stand atop of that podium against the might of the world, Just ask Messrs Malin, Herring and Nicoll how that feels. Personally I can’t wait, bring on October 1st and lets all get behind our new manager and the Team”
