Brown wins at Westmorland British Trials Championship
Following the original cancellation of the Lakes round of the British Trials Championship Westmorland MC stepped in a short notice to run Round 2 of the R T Keedwell Trials series.

The area at Tow Tops had 12 tough hazards on slate rock with some big climbs as well. One other thing that did not change was the weather on the exposed Cumbrian venue.

The wet and windy conditions did nothing to deter Michael Brown however and the 2013 Champion was in top form as he beat Jack Sheppard in second and Dan Peace third. Hookwoods victor Jack Price had to settle for fourth this time out which suggests that the battle for supremacy will be tough throughout the year.

It was Browns day though and his winning margin was comfortable with three very consistent laps which gave him victory by a clear 17 marks.

In the Expert Class James Fry got back to winning ways from Richard Sadler and Harold McQuaid third. Dan Thorpe who won the opening round had to settle for fourth this time. Fry started off with a great lap losing just seven marks and although Sadler could come back at him in the middle of the event.  James responded by putting in the best final lap so it was job done for the Sherco rider.

With conditions as they were it was always going to be hard work for the 125 cc machines that the Youth A riders have the Beta youngster to ride on the same course as the Experts. Billy Green is fast making a name for himself in the class and he even made his best score on the last of his 3 laps.  Duncan MacColl came home second seven marks clear of Oliver Smith on the Oset but it was only Billy who could post a score of under three figures.
