Enduro GP returns to the UK
Paul Edmondson signed on the dotted line last week to confirm that the Enduro GP of the United Kingdom will be running at Hawkstone Park on September 23-24th 2017.

With the official contract signed at ACU HQ this prestigious series returns to the UK after nearly a decade away. Plans can now start taking shape with just 10 months to go before the big weekend.

Breaking new ground, the Enduro GP will experience a new format at Hawkstone Park with a day of Sprints and a day of GNCC style XC racing, both will certainly shake things up and add a new dimension to the series.

With a handful of successful events at Hawkstone already under his belt Paul Edmondson feel confident that the weekend will be hugely successful and test all riders to the maximum.

Paul Edmondson: ‘I’m truly honoured to be allowed to organise this event and I think Hawkstone Park is definitely the place to run it. The Saturday Sprint tests will be somewhat familiar to most Enduro GP riders but Sunday’s GNCC style race will see World Class riders who have never sat alongside each other on a start line pitted head to head around one of the most challenging venues in the country.

I can think of nowhere better for an Enduro GP. Hawkstone’s facilities; paddock, parking, accessibility and ease of spectating around the whole venue will make this a GP round for everyone where all the action can be witnessed within a short walk.

Riders who have already experienced Fast Eddy events at the venue will know just how tough it is and personally I think it will come as a shock to many riders who think it is simply an MX venue, never having ridden there.

I have a huge amount of work ahead of me, as does my team, but I’m excited about it and I’m sure the next 10 months will fly past.’

John Collins. Chairman of ACU Trials & Enduro Committee commented, ‘The FIM made the decision that for 2017 they will change the traditional World Enduro format and include two alternative events. It is a tribute to Paul’s recognition that they have allocated the ACU and Paul one of these rounds. I am confident that with Paul's experience, this is going to be rather a special weekend where we can witness not only best of British riders, but best in the World, which often these days can result in same thing.’
