Will Carter Take Championship at Final Round
This Saturday (yes Saturday) October 15th the final round of the 2016 Phoenix Tools Premier motocross Championship will take place at Little Silver Moto Parc, Exeter. The track in recent weeks has had a lot of work done to it and a new section has been added which will be used for the first time this weekend.

In the Gabriel Insulations Expert Championship all the pressure will be on current Championship leader Jordan Carter (Pictured No 30) on the MotoXtreme/Stones Supplies Kawasaki who goes in to the final round with a 29 points lead over the Tony Maunders Racing Suzuki of Jamie Skuse who himself is just 21 points ahead of the fast starting Kelvin Townsend on the Tony Maunders Racing Yamaha, but there is plenty of other talent in the frame including Tommy Alba on the D S C Cornwall Kawasaki who has won 5 of the last 6 races in the Championship, newly sponsored Luke Dean on the SevenSeven2 Yamaha UK bike, the M D R/Tony Maunders Racing KTM of James Kensington, Luke Craig on the Richard Craig Yamaha, Loukas Maggio on the Dave Thorpe Off Road Honda, Josh Taylor, Sam Gabriel on the Gabriel Insulations Honda and the A D Homes/Wulfsport Suzuki of Tom Moore making a return from injury to name a few plus wildcards Luke Sturgeon on the D S C Cornwall Kawasaki, Jake Shipton on the Crescent Racing KTM and newly crowned Weston Beach Race winner Todd Kellett on the Crescent Racing/S J Hodder KTM with many more expected.

In the M D Racing Over Age Championships even though all three Champions were declared at the penultimate round there is still plenty to race for as in the Over 35 class there is just 39 points separating the Ace Comfort Cooling Kawasaki of James Price in 2nd and Jonathan Morrissey in 3rd, but joining them will be already 2016 Champion Wayne Shimell who will be on a TyreMarks Honda for the final round who for sure will be looking to go out on a high, but hoping to spoil his party will be  Ben Harmon on his M D R Honda along with the New Milton Tyres Suzuki of Luke Dewey plus wildcard Darren Banwell on the Cheddar Mx KTM to name a few.

In the Over 40’s it could all go down to the last race to decide who is going to finish 2nd behind newly crowned Champion Stuart Rawlings as there is just 3 points separating James Knatchbull in 2nd from Rob Lewis on the Tony Maunders Racing Honda in 3rd who is just 26 points ahead of T R Green Engineering Husqvarna of Richard Green in 4th, but joining them looking to do well are the likes of Laurence Watkins on the MVRD/Totally Transporters Honda, the Gabriel Insulations Honda of Steve Elford plus many others.

In the Over 50’s again this could go down to the last race to decide who is going to take the runner up spot behind David Ford as Alan Packer on the Simpsons Plant Hire Honda sits in 2nd just 15 points ahead of Adrian Toy who for sure will be looking to do well and take that spot.

In the Tony Maunders Junior Championship it has yet to be decided who will be Champion, but the man to beat will be Harry Linton on the Bridgestone KTM who has a fair lead in the Championship, but with some 420 points on offer he cannot afford any mishaps so the pressure will be on him. Lying 2nd in the standings is the Tony Maunders Racing Honda of Jay Lewis who took his first race win and overall at the last round who knows he also cannot make any mistakes as right there behind him in the standings is the likes of Jamie Buckingham on the Alex Buckingham M/c Husqvarna, Bradley Barfoot, Harry Mitchell, Jamie Dixon and James Bailey who are in touching distance.

In the R C Motorhomes 2-Stroke Championship it’s the Moto 64 KTM of Leighton Holmes who goes in to the final round with a cushion but not a safe cushion ahead of Ben Milward on the Inchains Yamaha who will be giving his all not to just close the deficit on Holmes, but to try and hold on to that 2nd position as in 3rd just 31 points adrift is Grant Bryant who will be giving his all.

Also at the end of the Championship races there will be an extra combined race for the fastest 40 Junior and Experts with prize money for the top three.

Little Silver Moto Parc has easy access with excellent viewing and will be Signposted off the end of the M5 Motorway at Kennford (Sat Nav EX6 7UD) with the first race at 10-30am. (There are still places available in all classes, for more info contact Greta on 07979351595)
