Thursday October 13, 2016 at 11:40am

The final round of the 2016 ACU Championships will be run at Santa Pod Raceway this weekend 15-16th October.

Top Fuel Bike finished their championship last month at the National Finals.  Pro Stock Bike has no entries for this meeting, so Alex Hope is the 2016 Pro Stock Bike Champion.

Funny Bike.

Phil Crossley has dominated this year’s championship and has an 845 points lead and unless Allan Davies and Eric Richard win the event and set et and speed records, Crossley wll be the Funny Bike Champion.  Filippos Papafilippou maybe the rider who could reset both records having run 6.5sec at over 206mph.  ACU speed record holder Lorcan Parnell will be hoping to improve his speed record.  Bob Brooks will be hoping to run his first six-second pass this weekend.

Comp Bike.

Eddy Smiley should be back on his own bike after damaging his motor in testing the day before the National Finals.  Smiley is only 230 points ahead of National Finals winner Mick Winyard and it is between them for the championship.  Paul Hambridge was runner up at the National Finals and could spoil someone’s party.  Sean Mills ran well in qualifying at the last round and is another rider who could win the event.  Making a return is Mark Hope who was up near the top of the leader board at the start of the season.

Super Street Bike.

Steve Venables leads teammate Graham Balchin by 470 points.  Balchin won the National Finals and set a personal best of 7.106.  Venables set a new ACU et record of 6.998 at the National Finals.

European FIM Super Street Bike Cup winner Garry Bowe will be hoping to win the event.  There are two Swedish riders and one rider from Denmark entered the event.
