Skuse Back to Close Gap on Carter
This Sunday September 18th the Phoenix Tools Premier Motocross Championship moves back down to Cornwall to the ever popular Landrake Moto Parc which will host the penultimate round in the 10 round series and with it the final round of the Evo/Super Evo Championship.

In the Gabriel Insulations Expert Championship its Jordan Carter on the MotoXtreme/Stones Supplies Kawasaki who took the lead in the Championship at the last round in the absence of Jamie Skuse, but making a return will be Skuse (Pictured No 600) who trails Carter by 44 points and will be looking to cut in to that deficit. Also looking to do well will be the likes of Kelvin Townsend on the Tony Maunders Racing Yamaha who sits 3rd in the standings just 12 points adrift, but there is plenty of other talent lining up like Tommy Alba on the D S C Cornwall Kawasaki, James Kensington, Ben Hunt, Jason Brooke, Josh Taylor plus many more.

In the M D Racing Over Age Championships things could well be decided with a round to spare as Wayne Shimell on the TyreMarks Husqvarna goes in to the Penultimate round with a 219 points lead over the Ace Comfort Cooling Kawasaki of James Price in the Over 35 class, but Price will have to be at his best as just 23 adrift in 3rd is Jonathan Morrissey with Ben Harmon who missed a couple of rounds there in 4th , but there is many others lining up including wildcard Darren Banwell who will be having his first ride in this class since turning 35. In the Over 40’s class Stuart Rawlings could win the Championship with a good result in the first race, but its tight in the current standings between Rob Lewis who has literally has a 15 points advantage over James Knatchbull, but things wont be plain sailing as joining them will be the likes of Richard Green, Steve Elford and Laurence Watkins to name a few. In the Over 50’s class David Ford on the Projuice KTM could also clinch the title, but he will need to be at his best to do so as hoping to stop him will be the likes of Alan Packer who sits second in the standings with Adrian Toy just 8 points behind Packer in 3rd plus Dave Watson and Cornish wildcard Mark Roberts.

In the Tony Maunders Junior Championship it’s the Bridgestone KTM of Harry Linton with a comfortable Championship lead from the Tony Maunders Racing Honda of Jay Lewis who moved up in to 2nd at the last round with Jamie Buckingham on the Alex Buckingham M/c Husqvarna there in 3rd, but things are tight for 4th as its Harry Mitchell who has just a single point advantage over Bradley Barfoot so the battle will be on. Other riders competing will include the likes of Jamie Dixon, James Bailey, Tyron Cleaver, Ross Kersey and Ross Churchill plus many others.

In the Evo/Super Evo Championship it’s Adam Plant on the Plant Flooring CR500 Honda who goes in to the final round with a 27 points lead, but Adam knows he cannot afford any mishaps as Ricky Brown for sure will be there to take the Championship.

Landrake Moto Parc has easy access with excellent viewing and will be Signposted off the A38 just South of the Tamar Bridge (Sat Nav PL12 5EP) with the first race at 10-30am. (There are still places available in all classes, for more info contact Greta on 01884 840078)
