Battle of Britain Meeting Provides Great Racing at Croft
NEMCRC provides great racing at the 2nd Revival of Battle of Britain meeting at the AM Leathers sponsored event.

The 2.1-mile Croft circuit based on the old WW2 Canadian Airforce Base in North Yorkshire provided some thrilling motorcycle and sidecar racing at the 2nd Battle of Britain meeting staged in collaboration with the Darlington and District Motor Club.

The 2016 FSRA -ACU formula 2 sidecar title was decided at the meeting the Peter Pounds and Jevon Walmsley pairing having a clear margin over second place Lee Crawford and Patrick Farrance and third place pairing of Stephen and Matty Ramsden

In the solo classes each group provided some exciting and close racing. In group 1 the main protagonists were Mark Goodings Kawasaki -Ian Rumney Kawasaki and Andrew Stockdale BMW these three riders provided close finishes throughout the 4 group one races often within tenths of a second between them. The overall outcome going in Andrew Stockdale’s favour who collected the Group one trophy and a cheque for £300.

In group two there were similar close finishes with the group 2 winner being Dave Curtis who never first across the line put in some very consistent rides with 3 second places and a third on his Ducati.

Dave Bell was unfortunate to retire in the 2nd of the group 2 races. But for that he would have obtained a clean sheet to add to his three class wins. As it was Dave Curtis took home the Group 2 trophy and a cheque for £300.

In both groups the sponsors of the meeting provided cash prizes down to 15th place. The NEMCRC would like to acknowledge the support from all its sponsors in particular AM Leathers - North East Motorcycles -  Bells Motorcycles – M and S Motorcycles - DBS Motorcycles and Merlin Sidecars for their continued support of the NEMCRC.
