This Sunday (22nd May) the third round of the Maxxis ACU British Sidecarcross Championships will be held at the Wattisfield Hall circuit near Diss hosted by Diss MCC.
The event has attracted an entry of nearly 40 sidecars plus solos competing in the very popular NGR Championship as well as two classes of Junior solos. With alterations having been made to widen the track in a few places the racing should be fast and furious.
After just one round of the Sidecar Championships (Round two should have been held at Foxhill but was cancelled because of heavy rain) defending champions Stuart Brown / Josh Chamberlain are leading by just three points from Brett Wilkinson / Steve Kirwin with Paul Pelling / Chris Pannell in third place. Brown / Chamberlain are on a roll at the moment not only leading the British Championship but also the Dutch and they are currently lying second in the World Championships. Wilkinson's regular passenger Steve Kirwin will be returning to racing after a couple of weeks off following a non racing injury.
In the Hadrian marine sponsored Experts class the current leaders Jack Etheridge / Scott Grahame will be hoping to extend their lead whilst second placed Ross Bowers / Dan Phelps will be hoping to collect a hatful of points and take the lead. Adding an extra bit of spice to the races will be the Dutch driver Mike Keuben and his English passenger Ryan Humphrey.
In addition to the three sidecar races there will be NGR solos plus races for junior solos. Practice is due to start at 10.15 with the first race due off at 12noon. Admission is £10 per adult with unaccompanied children and OAPs £5. Accompanied children are free. The circuit is at Wattisfield just off the A143 and the nearest postcode is IP22 1NX
