Double-Header Youth Trial at Tong Park World Round
OSET Bikes, Trials UK and Horsforth DMC will host two youth trials on consecutive evenings at this year’s World Round at Tong Park, West Yorkshire.

The first round is open to E-Class, D-Class and C-Class riders on any machine, electric or petrol, and will run on Friday 15th July, starting at 5.30pm.  Entries are limited to 50 riders and will work on a first come, first served basis.  Regs and entry forms for Friday night will be available on the Trials UK website and face book page and the Horsforth DMC website.  Entries open 01 June and close 30 June. Cost of entry is £20.

Nige Pearson from Trials UK and Horsforth DMC, explained: “Our intention is for this to be a fun trial.  There will be no official awards but we will have spot prizes and a goody bag for every rider that takes part.  We want new and up and coming young riders to come down and watch the best the sport has to offer, before jumping on their own bikes and enjoy riding our sections having being inspired by the likes of Toni Bou and Adam Raga, without any pressure to perform.”

The course will have eight sections, ridden three or four times, to be confirmed on the day.

The second round is an electric-only trial, limited to the youth classes and hosted by OSET Bikes.  This will take place on the Saturday night, again from 5.30pm.  Awards and finishers medals will be available.  The event will run like a traditional OSET Cup and will have a white route for absolute beginners, a yellow route for those that can ride without paddling through every section, a red route for those stepping up to medium-hard and a blue elite route.  Similarly, entry numbers are limited to 50.  Regs and entry forms are available from the OSET Website and facebook page from 01 June – 30 June.  It’s first come first served and if numbers go over entrants will be placed on a waiting list.

Simon Armstrong from OSET Bikes, said: “We’ve restricted the numbers on the two nights as we don’t want either trial to take too long and we’re limited on space.  To try and guarantee a place you need to get your entry in as soon as it opens as last year we were oversubscribed.  Like the Friday night, although we have awards, this is designed to be a bit of fun after a full day watching the main event.  We simply want everyone to enjoy riding their bikes having been inspired earlier in the day.”

Early bird discounts are available now for the World Round, so rather than pay full price on the gate, you can purchase in advance here.

If you arrive to ride the trial only before 4.15pm on either day you will be charged entry to the World Round.
